Tuesday Night, 5:00 PM, Burbon Street,
across Flamingo Road from Bally's, @ the casino bar.

Guys, you're gonna have to start without me. That commute from Sydney is just too much for my little Honda. Have a great night and I'll be thinking of all the fun you're having...(sob)

VIVA LAS VEGAS, BABY! YEAH!

John, we could always organise an Sydney-syndicated version of the ShoWest Film-Tech drink and link it all up via satellite (or web-cam?).

Of course, I don't know where that would leave the Melbournites!

Im in Utah and Vegas is too far away. Actually I am just so tied up in stage construction that any two minutes away from the theater means two hours of delays. However I will drink a few beers as if I were there, and by then it wouldn't matter anyway, I wont know where I am.

Dave: You've got to be kidding. I have visited Salt Lake City many times, and I CAN'T get drunk off the beer there. You must be drinking an "import." Then again, if you were using the beer as a chaser.....

I wish I could be there, too. At least, I am on the east coast.

It would be fun to see you guys all whoopin' it up spraying FG all over the place...

Has anybody remembered to take a bag of balloons so you can drop FG bombs out the hotel window?

Somebody take pictures (on Kodak film) PLEASE!

Mark DeLettera and I arrived in Las Vegas at 6:00pm. Our 10:03am ROC-ORD flight was delayed an hour, causing us to miss our connection in Chicago, so we had a 3+ hour layover in the Windy City.

After today's long day, we'll be ready for the Film-Tech Drink tomorrow. I have lots of Kodak MAX 800 film for the party, and for some long telephoto shots of the celebrities. At least this year, we won't only be seeing the celebrities on video screens, although our tables may still be a 5-iron shot away.

John,

Be sure and send me scans or copies of the gathering so I can post them on the site.

Also will be looking for any other ShoWest picture submissions from visitors and manufacturers.

Wish I did have time for one Mark, problem is my schedule is so hectic right now. We are set to open a live show on the 17th this month and I haven't finished writing it yet. That and we are still building the stage and still need to install our lighting grid and all that crap. I swear if I ever get this stuff done I will be a happy man.

A few Film-Tech "rowdies" met tonight, all documented on Kodak MAX 800 film. The Telluride gang was there. Jim Bedford, Ian Price, Ross Krantz, Gary Stanley, Aaron Sisemore, Mark DeLettera, Diane Carroll-Yacoby, and John Pytlak shared a few beers and "talked shop" about film presentation.

Well we met for the ShoWest Film-Tech Drink.

In attendece were Myself,
Gary & Helen Stanley of Denver,
Jim Bedford of Telluride, CO,
Luci Reeve of Telluride, CO,
Jon Busch of Aspen,
Ross Kranz of Albuquerqi, NM,
Aaron Siesmore and his wife of Petaluma, CA,
Ky Boyd of San Francisco,
Mark J, DeLettera of Kodak,
Dian Carroll-Yacoby of Kodak,
and John P. Pytlak of Kodak.

I drank a coupld of Fosters in honor of our Austrailian friends, missing due to continetal drift.

Some news, John tells us that the Cyan Working group has set a deadline of 2001 to eliminate silver in sound-tracks. Order your reverse scan kits now.

Digital Cinema looks like it is as close as five years to forced implimentation. Digital Cinema is happening, get over it.

I am off to the Digital Cinema dress rehersal. I have to sneak in through the service corradors.

An insider in digital cinema admitted to me that the chips ar two generations away from acceptability. Were wearing him down, slowly.

More later with more detail.
