Sure missed the Film Handler's Forum. Welcome back!

This experience, and my experience with corporate IT servers, shows that servers are not yet 100% reliable, despite backups and redundancy. Having 99% uptime is not good enough. Film-Tech had a few Gigabytes disappear into the etherworld for a few days. Can you image a 20-plex when they lose their Terabyte-sized server on a busy weekend?

And they were SUPPOSED to send all of my old data to a new file on my site which I could then move over to finish the forum. I had even spent extra time reworking the site and putting in new features in the forum! Looks like all they've managed to do is waste my time over the weekend and crash all of my new work. Guess it's time to get in the Technicolor mode and make a nasty call. (At least the forum is back without glitch.)

I guess instead of DoS (denial of service) you could call it DoFT (denial of film-tech).

I'm installing a DSL line and I think I will start making daily backups. I just can't wait for electronic cinema's crashes!

I can't wait to be in a multi when the server crashes. I'll be one of the first ones in the refund line laughing my ass off.
Digital...hmmm...keep the 35mm and train caring operators to run em'.

Enough rant...welcome back FT'ers....

God Bless Film-Tech. I was getting real worried there for awhile. I guess it is like a drug.
