Author Topic: Box Office quote Carl Welles Film Handler Posts: 82 From: Cali Registered: Jun 99 posted 02-18-2000 02:50 PM                     I was fumbling through Box Office magazine today trying to kill some time and noticed on page 47 of the March 2000 issue the following in regards to a story on union projectionists in Canada. Quote: Asked about reported problems with projecting films, especially "Magnolia," which is being shown by both Famous Players and Cineplex, Marci Davies [Cineplex Odeon's senior vice president of marketing] cited the film's three-hour length. "It puts tremendous pressure on the bulbs; it has nothing to do with the capacity of people operating the film." What? Senior vice president of marketing huh? I wouldn't put it past some management buffoon to say that though.
