I have a suggestion for Christie. They should put reversible motors on their rewind tables. The problem that I run into is when you tear down a print since the motor only rewinds in one direction if you splice a tail onto a reel, and the tail is wrapped the other way, then you have to unwind it. To have the soundtracks line up you either have to wind it around the reel in the other direction or twist the film which then causes it to wind badly. This could simply be averted by a switch. Then when you want to get out of there late at night you don't have to worry about it. All you do is line up the soundtracks, splice, place the reel on the spindle, and if it's wound the opposite direction flip a switch and go. This wouldn't be a really big deal except that some of those tails are quite long. Am I alone on this or what. Does anyone else ever have this problem?

I'm sure Christie does have reversing rewind tables, but they cost more. Maybe you could get a retro-fit kit from them.

Kelmar and Nuemade reverse, but it's an extra cost option.

BTW, I'm still trying to get a manual from Nuemade for their "Ultra" rewind table. I talked to a girl there just before Christmas, who promised to send me one. I hate to be pushy, so I haven't called again yet. They are only about 3-4 miles away from where I work, so maybe during lunch......
