I finally got my port glass installed that I bought from TCI it's the kind with anti-reflective coatings etc. What great glass! I've never seen such clear anything! Sometimes I look at it and can't tell it's there. Usually you can move your head around and catch a reflection off something so you can see the surface, but not with this stuff. It's amazing.

What's the size of the piece of glass and cost? How thick is it?

I have a sample of the stuff. It is very good. I brought the other thread for some time ago, back to the top of the list.

Brad I think the TCI glass is about .35 to .45 cents a square inch., but don't quote me on that. They cut to whatever size you need.

That works out to about .47 cents a square inch....unless that included S & H, then of course the price would be less.

The number was rounded off to the high side. It was slightly less than 100 and included shipping. But I was trying to make a comment about the quality of the glass, not it's price. Sorry for the confusion.

Greg, just saying that the glass was a decent price at maybe .40 to .45 cents a square inch.. Since Brad was wondering what the price was. Well worth the cost. Like I said, I have a sample of the glass you have sitting here next to me. and the quality is very good. I like it alot.

Using optical quality port glass with anti-reflection coatings has two major benefits: less flare (better contrast) and more light on the screen. I bet if you compare your old port glass to the new anti-reflection optical glass, you have picked up a few footlamberts of light on the screen. Plus the dark areas of the picture are blacker and have more shadow detail. With proper care and cleaning, that $100 investment in high quality port glass will deliver better pictures for years to come. Congratulations!

I haven't heard about ISCO making optical port glass but Schneider is "distributing" optical port glass (it isn't made by them).

Thanks steve for the update, i said ISCO in my first post in this subject, but was of cause thinking of Schneider.I will contact my dealer and order some Schneider port glass.

BTW i live in europe close to the Schneider facility that's why i will order from them, if i were to ship the glass from the US all the way to europe, i wont dare think how it will look like when it arrives (broken)

The glass you buy in the US, im sure is very good.
