I just finished up an 8-plex and installed the new 3-ways in full baffle walls in the two large auditoruims. Assembley is a pain and required some re-drilling of the throat adaptors on the midrange horns. These suckers are 9 feet tall when assembled! We used JBL M553 X-overs as the budget didn't allow for the DCS series x-over. BUT WOW! These are killer speakers either way! Effortless, and real would be the best way to describe the sound. You don't think you are listening to a speaker system at all. Would love to hear back from other techs that have installed the JBL's using the DSC x-over, or other x-overs on the market. What was your impression of them. Toy Story was a knock out on these systems especially with EX and not one customer complaint came in even when played back at very high levels.

With a well designed baffled system with enough head room there is very little distortion and as such loudness usually isn't a matter of complaints
The level isn't what people usually complain about but the distortion that often accompanies it.
