I am in the process of adding a new cue to our Christie 3Q automations (with attached Component Engineering QX-10 que expanders). Currently, all of the ques on the QX=10 use the same common (refered to in the 3Q book as the "automation switching common). THe other wire from each que activates a relay (one for start cue, one for feature cue, and one for end cue). The new cue I am adding is to pulse the Lutron dimmer to the half light setting. My question is, should I still use the automation switching common (which does work, as I wired one that way to test it) or should I use the dimmer common? Basically, I am afraid of frying something if I use the wrong pulse.

All of the relay contact sets on the QX-10 are isolated specifically so that the user can control various devices without any interference between them. I don't know how Christie installed your QX-10, but if you go directly to the unit itself you can access the contacts associated with the cue you wish to use for your lights. The instructions for this unit are on our website, <www.componentengeering.com>. If this doesn't solve your problem, please get in touch.
