Hello, I am in the final week before I move to the SLC area, and I would like to know what theaters or service companies (Claco, GTS) might be hiring in the next two weeks. I will be located near Tooele, but I am planning on commuting to SLC, preferably in the Magna, West Salt Lake areas, but if the pay is enough for the gas, I'll also look further into SLC.
I appreciate any help, even if it's "the Carmike 16 might be hiring" or suggestions on resume, interview, etc.

I don't know how much help I could be, since I haven't investigated theatre jobs around Utah. But at least I live in Utah (Ogden area). You may already know this, but a week ago Cinemark opened a 24-screen megaplex (the largest in Utah, they say) called Jordan Landing. Who knows if there will be any turnover in their new staff? The address is 7301 South Jordan Landing (which is just a little west of Redwood Road, I think).

Two weeks ago, Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller opened an independent theatre called Jordan Commons and it's located at 9335 South State Street in Sandy. They have 16 "regular" screens plus a 17th screen which they're calling a "Super Screen." It's a 60 foot by 80 foot screen with an 8-perf 70mm projector from Megasystems. They opened the place with the IMAX film EVEREST (printed down to 8-perf) and they're going to show other printed-down IMAX films too. Again, I don't know if they have any openings but with that kind of a set-up I would hope they'd still want to talk with experienced projectionists just in case of staff turnover.
