We have a general practice in my booth of labling the prints not with their original titles, but more appropriate ones or humorous ones. Here are a few that I have come up with (this is by no means a definitive list):

Prince of Egypt - The Artist Formerly Known as the Prince of Egypt

Pokemon - Hokeymon (Best I could come up with)

Being John Malkovich - Peeing on John Malkovich

What Dreams May Come - Wet Dreams May Cum (Yes I know)

Saving Private Ryan - Saving Ryan's Privates (Too easy)

Payback - You'll Want Your PAYBACK After Viewing This Crappy Movie

One of my projectionists was contemplating this one for James Bond 007: The World Is Not Enough - James Bond 007: Two Surround Channels Are Not Enough (Since the movie is in EX Surround)

What are some other good ones?

My favorite way to 'hack' a movie title is to add a standard ending on to it. (Like the Chinese Fortune Cookie thing...)

I usually add "...In my pants".

The Best Man...
The Messenger...
Double Jeopardy...
Pokemon...
Titanic...
Anaconda...

You get the idea.

I did this in the TV station. It made the engineers laugh. Sam Goldwyn TV jumped allover us for writing on their reels, so we stopped. Then we started writing on white paper tape and sticking them to the reels.

We always put the correct title on R1. The rest were similar.

"Stella Dumbass" (Stella Dallas)
"I Lust Loosly" (famous redhead TV show)
"The Beveridge Hillbillies"

There were alot of sick people at my station. It was fun

I and most of the booth staffs I have worked with have been doing this for years... We used to write the joke title and sound format info on a piece of masking tape that was attached to the door of the CP50 at the Phoenix, and after the show completed its run it went up on the 'Wall Of Shame'... After 4 years of dollar double features the booths walls were pretty comical

Some of the more popular ones I can remember from the 80s and today:

Splash: 'Daryl Does Disney' (remember the (gasp) partial nudity in this Disney (ok, Touchstone) flick?))

101 Dalmatians: '99 good reasons to neuter your dog'

D.A.R.Y.L.: which stands for, of course, <D>umb, <A>sinine <R>etarded <Y>ucchy <L>amebrain

E.T.: 'E.T. The Extra Testicle'

The Goonies: 'The Gonads'

Invasion USA: 'Evasion IRS'

Gymkata: 'Gymkaka'

American Anthem: 'Gymnastics Rocky'

Youngblood (the Rob Lowe one): 'Hockey Rocky'

Over The Top: 'Arm Wrestling Rocky'

The Karate Kid: 'The Judo Jerk'

Meatballs: 'Beatballs'

Breakin': 'Broken' (duh)

Breakin II-Electric Boogaloo: 'Broken II-Electric Booger'

***and so on for the 80s, I can try to remember more of them...***

The (later) 90's:

Simply Irresistible: 'Simply Inconceiveable (That this film could make any money!)'

Kazaam: 'Shaq Attaq from Iraq'

Courage Under Fire: 'enCOURAGE UNDERwear FIREs'

Saving Pvt. Ryan: 'SHAVING Ryan's Privates' - I have seen a marquee that had the letters in this title rearranged to read 'Pet A Vagina' as well hehehe

More to come....

The porn title article is great. I recently saw where Nikki Fritz is producing a new film:

The Bare Wench Project

That's a follow-up to her not-so-original title "Stripteaser"

She's also doing a series for Cinemax with an equally dubious title I can't remember now...
