I caught a guy yesterday afternoon trying to videotape Star Wars. He was the only person in the auditorium. He might've actually gotten away with it had he put tape over his blinking red recording light! I could see it from the booth.

I've caught half a dozen bootleggers over the years. Only one of them was stupid enough to not cover up that red light. One was for Star Wars a couple of weeks back. They just don't seem to understand why they can't tape it!

Personally, I always let them get a trailer or two before I stop them. That way they can get home and see how horrible the picture looks to discourage future attempts. If I don't catch it during the trailers, I take the tape away and erase it. (But not until after getting my laughs at the horrid transfers.)
