  • Dolby CP650 Remote Control in Changeover Operation

I can find no capability in the CP650 Cat. No. 779 Remote Control accessory to control the P1/P2 sound changeover function in a two projector setup. This does not seem right as one of the basic functions of the previous CP200 and CP500 remote controls was to control P1/P2 sound changeovers from the units. I know the CP650 has a separate changeover input connector on the back panel. With Cat. No. 779s available however, it seems it should be possible to eliminate the extra switches, relays, wiring, connector, etc.. Am I missing something??

    Thank you, Paul Finn .

The remotes do not allow for projector changeover, just annunciation. The CP500 version was sort of kludgy, at best as you were selecting the same format again...which could interrupt sound too. For the record, I don't believe the CP50, 55, or 65 allowed for changeover on the remote. The CP100, CP200 and CP500 did. The CP100 was so specific that there was a P1 remote and and P2 remote because of the latching circuit.

So, yes, a separate set of switches or relays if you want it.
